With the Holidays here, we at Iron Galaxy and Microsoft what better time to thank all of you for supporting Killer Instinct: Season Two. In just five months, Ultra-combo.com has reached
4,300 members! That’s more than we expected, and the thriving community has provided us with a ton of feedback to help guide us create Season 2.
As a token of our thanks, we wanted to unveil a very community-focused feature that you guys have been requested for awhile –
BEHOLD, THE ANALOG STICK DISABLE OPTION IN ALL OF ITS GLORY!
It’ll go into the next Content Update. Isn’t it amazing?
Another thing the community has been asking for is a way to quickly shift back and forth through the Single Player, Multiplayer and Store Menus. So here that is. Notice the bumpers on the bottom? It works seamlessly!
And finally, as an Xmas Bonus: I just received word that KI Classic 1 will get an update to add online multiplayer TONIGHT via our friends at Code Mystics. The rollout should occur around 5pm Pacific time.
Other Notes:• We updated the front page of Ultra-combo.com. If you scroll down to the Season 1 Changelist, you can now see an image of the Story Mode Mural!
• Riptor’s correct Ultra Music is not playing because of a bug. We’re trying to fix that via patch before the next Content Update.
• When you unlock a Story Mode XP bonus, that XP is Player XP only (not Character XP also).
• There is a known issue with Story Mode XP sometimes unlocking, but not depositing. We’re investigating a fix for that as well.
Let’s get to the Q&A. I’ve read every single one of your posts, and here’s what I’m rolling with, holiday-style:
Q: @Morgan69Olsen – Will the lvl cap on the characters be over 30 in the January update?A: No, it will be raised as part of the new Ranked feature that we’ll spell out in a Textual Stream after New Year’s.Q: Dancovich - Will the UI still receive some changes? Not needed changes to features not yet released, but changes to elements present at the moment like navigating through player banners, medals and taunts which is super slow for some reason and often show incorrect levels for characters (my Kan-Ra is level 14 but his medal still says "Kan-Ra Level 1".
A: The UI is always evolving. You can expect improvements and optimizations every Content Update. (Character Select sped up some with the Riptor update!) The “Kan-Ra Level 1” you mention is referring to when the item is unlocked, regardless if you unlocked it already (you did). After next Content Update, it will simply say that it is UNLOCKED.Q: Olaf DoodBronya -Is there plans to add a "back to menu" option after survival matches?
A: Yep. This is happening in the next Content Update! (Finally!)Q: Grime99 – Are you aware of a Riptor-related bug that causes the match to freeze?A: Yes we know what’s causing it, and are working on a fix that we’re trying to get done before the next Content Update.Q: KillerInstinct Boy – Is IG thinking about polishing/refining S1 characters? A: We made our biggest refinement to S1 characters before Season 2 Launched, including giving Orchid a grenade, Thunder, a Call to Sky, among a slew of balance improvements. We’re always considering further adjustments and bug fixes for S1 characters. From here out, they will be minor. Q: Sparky- Does Orchid’s Holiday outfit count as one of the 9 colors?No, her Holiday Outfit is a special, limited time outfit that counts APART from that group. All of the Holiday Accessories and Outfits will be available until 12/31!Q: Shawnoftheshred – Can you tell us about your plans for more XP bonus events?We definitely plan on doing more of them, but nothing set in stone that we can announce right now. Q: kslice928 - When do we expect to see the last 3 colors of each character? At the end of season 2 or before then?The rest of the colors will be out well ahead of the end of Season 2, that much I can tell you.Q: CStyles45 – Would it be possible to get back the feature that was in season 1 where the game would default to your previously used character on the character select screen?It’s on our list. We want to get this in too. It’s just a matter of time – probably not next update. Q: Combo_Raptor – I know many NEW things are coming to a season 2 story mode, but will season 1 get the same treatment at a later date?We’re going to add an Achievement to S1 Story Mode with the Mural so that you can use it for your background in our next update and also fix the aforementioned XP bug -- that wraps up our planned Season 1 Story Mode work. Everything is focused on Season 2 going forward.
Q: Angelic Storm - When will we see the “other ways of earning character XP” that has been talked about recently?A: Sometime in January we’ll outline more detail. Thanks for being patient! We’re excited to talk about it too.Q: el panelOn – Do you have a better timeframe than ‘sometime next year’ for all characters Dojo?The upgrades to the Dojo are a few months out. That’s as specific as I can get right now.Q: Blue Riptor – What’s your favorite character?A: Riptor.
