We’re sure none of you noticed the inclusion of Gold Pack 1, Gold Pack 2, or the Terror Pack skins in the Killer Instinct Store when 3.5 released last week. Even fewer of you may even have already purchased said skins, and are now proudly flaunting them through KI’s various modes leaving the rest to wonder when these skins would be available for all. Well we’re here to go in depth on that very topic.
Admittedly, the Skin packs are something we have been working on for a little while now, but the ability to purchase them wasn’t scheduled to go live with 3.5 on November 22nd. Whoops! For any of you who were able to get your hands on the skins during the brief window they were available for purchase, fear not. They are yours to keep and use at your discretion. The rest of you wondering when you’ll get your chance to get your Midas-touched skins need not worry, either, as the first skin pack (Gold Pack 1) is set to release on December 6th.
Let us transition for just a second to talk about the future of Killer Instinct, as many of you have started to ponder what the fate of our fighting franchise will be now that Season 3 has produced all of its content. Well, in true Killer Instinct fashion, we enjoy shaking things up, and like these skin packs, we have a few tricks up our sleeves. As we continue forward over the coming months we will roll out content to keep your interest in KI piqued. What does that mean? Stay tuned. Seriously. You knew that line was coming.
3.5’s release last week was the beginning of this content shake up. We’ve heard what you, our community, has been requesting over the past 3 amazing years (happy belated birthday, KI!). And while not everything can be accomplished, our ultimate goal is to deliver what you crave most.
So let’s go through this briefly. TOMORROW, November 29th, the Tiger will be released in Shadow Lords. We’ll have more details on the latest Guardian coming to KI tomorrow. Next Tuesday, December 6th, Gold Pack 1 releases. Gold Pack 2 is scheduled for Tuesday, December 13th. Sensing a pattern?
The Terror Pack is also scheduled for a December release, as is 3.6. WOW, that’s certainly a lot of content in a short amount of time. But why are there no dates for the last two releases? Well, things shift, and we react & adapt. So while we have a goal in sight, we won’t confirm until we get a little bit closer to the release date. As it stands we want to release 3.6 before Christmas arrives, and the Terror Pack will arrive shortly after. Super sleuths, you should be able to figure this out.
Well there you have it. What does this mean for the future of KI? You know our motto…FIGHT ON!
